Democrats who are against Biden in 2024 won’t discuss their ideas for ‘new leadership’ in the White House.

NEW Fox News articles can now be heard on audio! Two Democrats from Minnesota have declared they will not support Vice President Biden as the Democratic contender for president in 2024 and that they are looking for “new leadership,” but they have declined to specify how they plan to oppose the incumbent’s reelection campaign.

When asked recently at a town hall if he would back Biden in a run for re-election, Rep. Dean Phillips gave a resounding “no.”
The nation “would be well-served by a new generation of compelling, well-prepared, and vibrant Democrats who step up,” Phillips continued.

Rep. Dean Phillips, D-Minn., said he would not support President Biden if he seeks re-election, but refused to tell Fox News how he plans to implement new leadership.

Fox News Digital questioned Phillips on what steps he would take, if any, to block Biden from becoming the Democratic candidate for president in 2024.
According to a Phillips spokeswoman speaking to Fox News Digital, he “declined further comment” on the situation.

In response to a similar inquiry regarding Biden in 2024, fellow Minnesotan Rep. Angie Craig said with Phillips that the Democratic Party requires a “new generation of leadership.”

In addition, Craig stated in her statement, “As a member of Congress, I’m going to do everything in my ability to ensure that we have a new generation of leadership.”

Fox News Digital also reached out to Craig, seeking further explanation as to how exactly she plans to combat a Biden 2024 re-election bid.

“Many Minnesotans, myself included, are ready to see a new generation of leaders in the Democratic Party, and I will do everything in my power to help those new leaders up and down the ballot,” Craig said in a statement.

“I remain immensely proud of the bipartisan work weve done in Congress and with President Biden to lower costs for working families, protect women’s reproductive rights and keep our communities safe, and I will continue to work with anyone who will help get results for Minnesotas Second District.”

Following the president’s consistently low approval ratings, several Democratic members have been reluctant to back Biden in a subsequent bid for office.
Although the president hasn’t yet made his 2024 plans public, the White House has confirmed that Biden does intend to run for re-election.

In the upcoming midterm elections in November, both Minnesota members are running for reelection and are vying to keep their positions as Democrats struggle to hang onto their thin congressional majorities.
