On Jesse Watters Primetime, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy offers his opinion on President Biden’s handling of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan and what Pelosi might have done better.
NEW Fox News articles can now be heard on audio! On “Jesse Watters Primetime,” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy discussed how Nancy Pelosi’s travel to Taiwan should have been handled by both President Biden and the House Speaker.
KEVIN MCCARTHY, REP.
Biden has exhibited weakness in his handling of Afghanistan from the beginning. Keep an eye on how he permitted China to address America for the first time on American soil in Alaska. What did he do after that when Nancy Pelosi left for Taiwan? Again displaying weakness, he continued, “The military, however, does not want her to travel. I guess it’s Nancy.” Why didn’t he defend America by declaring that China wouldn’t be allowed to control who and when travels to Taiwan?
China would have viewed what they said and done differently. Regarding Nancy Pelosi, though, I am in favor of Americans visiting Taiwan. But wouldn’t it have been better if you had chosen a bipartisan group if you were the Speaker of the House? Every other congressional delegation that visits another country must be inclusive of both parties. Only the speaker makes it partisan for Democrats when she travels to Ukraine. She made it such that only Democrats could go to Taiwan. If Republicans and Democrats were working together, wouldn’t they have had a greater voice when it came to China?
